Here is a letter I wrote to TIME magazine and was published in the August 31st, 1998 issue

Notice the differences (in bold) between the letter I wrote and what they published.

The Letter I Wrote

One of the countries which opposed the establishment of the International War-Crimes court based on its current charter is Israel. Richard Goldstone states that the US opposes the court for fear that it will be used for political motives but Goldstone states that "...the idea that a diverse panel of independent judges would permit the indictment of anyone for political motives, is negligible". However, the court is being prepared for political use even before it comes into existence. Syria and Egypt forced the insertion of "paragraph 8" into the charter which states that any person or organization who moves a conquering country's population into a conquered area is a war criminal. This paragraph was inserted for the sole purpose of turning 150 thousand Jewish settlers into war criminals. It is absurd that the only nation mentioned in the bible as actually having a land given to it by God will be prosecuted as war criminals by an international court, Indeed, a court such as that should not exist.

What They Published

One of the countries that opposed the establishment of the International Criminal Court [which will try cases of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity], objecting to the terms of its charter, is Israel [Aug 3]. In his commentary, Richard Goldstone states that the U.S. opposes the court for fear it will lead to "politicized complaints", but he says that "the idea that a diverse panel of independents judges would permit the indictment of anyone for political motives is negligible." The court is being prepared for political use even before it comes into existence. Syria and Egypt forced an insertion into the charter stating that any person or organization that moves a conquering country's population into a conquered area is a war criminal, a clause aimed at Israel. It is absurd that Israelis could be prosecuted as war criminal by an international court
